Tom Mellor and Georgina Gratton (soon to be in silver squad) bravely swam the punishing 200 fly event earning a lot of praise and cheers for their efforts. Georgina (3 mins 4 secs) said afterwards ' that was the first time I have done 200 fly and it was very hard work !'. Ever popular Tom M is still on the mend from a knee injury but is making great progress he revealed ' I still need a small operation on it this month but the signs are good for a full recovery, I will be looking forward to getting down to some serious training at the start of next season ' The club send best wishes to you.
Eight 100m free heats then flashed by. Matt Gibson set the quickest time of 54 sec and was pleased with the swim. All the results can be found on the appropriate page but the recorder was suggesting that many PBs were swum on the night which is very encouraging.
![]() Ollie min milestone !
Young Ollie Goodhew (13) continued his solid progress breaking a min for the first time. A true mile stone for any swimmer so congratulations to him. The message is, never go over a min ever again !
Tom Harrison of bronze will be leaving us shortly as his family move to the West country to live. The youngster has featured on this site in the past and it was nice to speak with him. He said ' we are leaving on 19th July and I will be starting at Kelly College in September' He added ' I have really enjoyed my time at the Marlins especially Counties and the team events'

Club wishes him and his family all the best. Press officer Bowman suggests ' Tom certainly has the drive and skills to become a top swimmer or rugby player, its a name we should be looking out for in a few years time !'
It was a really lovely evening and the writer hopes that everyone enjoyed their time.
Meanwhile the press office is off to Argentina on Wednesday (6th July) watching some of that Copa America football. It should prove to be an exciting trip but winter temps in Mendoza are below freezing ! New Fleeces have been purchased. In addition he will be having a major knee op at the end of July which will cirtainly curtail a lot of gadding about for around 6 months.
